ABOUT ME

Spellwork Somatics is part of my commitment to contributing to collective healing and liberation, rooted in the belief that living in compassionate, equitable relationships with our self, each other, and the land is possible and essential.

I arrived at being a psychotherapist through my journey in grassroots journalism, cultural studies, inter-disciplinary arts, and social justice workshop facilitation. I am a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent, and diasporic Chinese person. My lived experience witnessing the impacts of trauma within my communities moved me to help others to process intergenerational pain and to fully embody one’s power and worth.

While I have spent the past 9 years in psychotherapy training and 5 years in clinical practice, Spellwork Somatics at its roots has grown from the wisdom of Healing Justice and BIPOC-led social movements, practicing mindfulness and balance through martial arts, and studying archetypal story and non-religious intuitive cosmologies like the tarot system and the Five Element Theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I continue to pursue clinical consultation and additional training as part of my professional standards and personal ethics of accountability, as well as my passion for learning and growing in community.
